Well, we came up a little short and the victory belongs to Harold Perrin. I would like to congratulate him on a hard-fought win.
The final results are: Perrin 4,937 to my 4,736.
I would like to thank all of my volunteers and supporters for your hard work and dedication. I am proud of the campaign we ran and I can't think of anything I would have done differently. We raised some very important issues:
- Open, Honest, Accountable, and Responsive Government
- Equal voice for all citizens
- Safety in our neighborhoods
- Solution to our traffic problems
- Continued improvements to our drainage problems
It is my hope that the new administration will work on these important issues as they move Jonesboro forward in the coming years.
The outcome of this election would indicate a 'divided' Jonesboro, and I don't believe any of us want that. It is now time for us all to unite. On January 1, Harold Perrin will be Jonesboro's mayor and I urge everyone who supported me to unite behind him for the betterment of our city--I know I intend to.
Again, thanks to all who supported and voted for me. It has been a real honor to meet so many new friends over the course of this campaign.
